Radon Testing

Radon Testing

Radon is radioactive, so it is measured using the principles of radiation physics. The way we discover the presence of radon involves looking for the radiation given off when radon decays. There are ways to “see” and to “count” the decays of radon. The unit of measurement for radon is the picocuries per liter of air. The U.S. EPA recommends reducing existing radon levels in homes and other structures below 4.0 pCi/L. In their latest advice to consumers, the EPA states that home owners should consider reducing radon levels that are between 2.0 and 4.0 pCi/L.

Advanced Radon Consultants is nationally certified by NRPP, AARST and the EPA for Radon Testing and Radon Mitigation. We have conducted thousands of radon tests in homes, schools and commercial buildings. Our testing is thorough, exacting and accurate.

Residential Radon Testing:

We can conduct a non-obtrusive 2 day radon test in your home to see if you have elevated radon levels. We can perform a complete radon test with an independent laboratory analyzing the test device and providing a thorough report with the results of the test. We are also happy to come to the home and deploying the device in the proper location.

Commercial Radon Testing:

We can conduct a complete radon measurement survey in any building where you may need radon levels determined. Radon levels can be measured for apartments, office buildings, stores or any type of structure. We provide a thorough report that is easy to understand. Our reports not only supply the results but explain the testing methodology and the quality assurance measures that were taken so that all parties concerned can understand the validity of the survey’s results.

Schools Testing:

We provide radon testing for public and private schools throughout Utah. Our radon school measurement surveys are conducted in compliance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Radon Measurement in Schools-Revised Edition (EPA 402-R-92-014) in adherence with the Rules and Regulations Governing Schools in the State of Utah.
